Never breach break-even by accident. Set this floor as your prAIcing minimum-margin guardrail — every agent test, promotion and price change is checked against it before it goes live.
From an assumption to shopper evidence
Your shoppers reveal the tradeoff. Your agent does the work.
A guessed elasticity can make a discount look attractive when it actually destroys margin. prAIcing compares two prices in a controlled 50/50 test and measures revenue or profit per product-page visitor. That evidence informs the next pricing decision — not a competitor’s price alone.
01 · Set the objective
Maximize Sales, Profit or Volume. Define minimum margins, step limits and locked products.
02 · Test & measure
Compare concurrent shopper groups. Measure outcomes per visitor so unequal traffic does not masquerade as demand.
03 · Learn & retest
Roll out a supported winner or keep the original. Revisit the decision as demand and seasons change.
04 · Work across the catalogue
A catalogue with 1,000+ SKUs needs prioritization, not 1,000 manual spreadsheets. Focus tests on products with enough traffic, then work through the queue.
Scale, honestly: current Autopilot runs up to 3 simultaneous tests per store. Catalogue size is not concurrent test capacity; traffic and test duration determine throughput. This is a rolling testing workflow, not a claim that thousands of SKUs have been tested simultaneously or that every product will improve.

What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price; markup is profit as a share of cost. A product that costs €40 and sells for €100 has a 60% gross margin and a 150% markup.
How do I calculate a break-even selling price?
Add every per-unit cost (product cost, packaging and shipping, ad cost per order and the fixed part of the payment fee) and divide by one minus the percentage payment fee. At that price each sale earns exactly zero contribution.
What is break-even ROAS?
Break-even ROAS is the return on ad spend at which advertising consumes all profit before ads. It equals the selling price divided by the contribution left after product, shipping and payment costs. Campaigns below it lose money on each order.
Does this include fixed costs such as rent or software?
No. It calculates per-unit contribution margin. Fixed overheads must be covered by total contribution across all orders.
How does prAIcing use this?
Your contribution floor becomes a merchant guardrail. prAIcing checks every test price, promotion and published price against your minimum margin on the server, so the agent cannot sell below the floor you set.
Protect your floor. Let the agent find the best price above it.
Set your goal and limits. Let the agent handle the testing cycle, while you focus on your next collection, customer experience or growth initiative.
